Katarina Pirak Sikku (1965) is an artist and lives in Jåhkåmåhkke. Her photography, drawing, installation and text-based work are based on Sami family history and historical facts that have influenced her personal life. In her approach to established worlds of images, she often makes use of subtle shifts that disrupt the principles that govern established conventions. Grief is a feeling that is invoked in her work, but there is also a lot of humor and generosity here. With her low-key activism, she strives to raise thoughts about what is going on in the political and social arena as well as in private and public life.
